Chief Pontiac of the Ottawa began his war against the British on this day in 1763. Pontiac's Rebellion would continue for three years.
Though he fought against British Imperialism over a decade before the colonists would, Chief Pontiac is best remembered for having his name appropriated by an automobile manufacturer. Pictured above is a model of a 1957 Pontiac Star Chief.
