Back on this day in 1804, the French senate decided to make Napoleon Bonaparte the emperor of France.



Napoleon's final defeat came in the Belgian town of Waterloo. Waterloo was also the name of the song which earned Swedish pop group Abba the top spot at the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest.
