Legendary children's television series Sesame Street made it's debut on this day in 1969. Perhaps the most popular and successful children's television ever, worldwide, Sesame Street's combination of human cast members, Jim Henson's Muppets, animation segments, songs and sharp, witty writing made it a hit with generations of kids and their parents.
